Interim Pastor Olsen Now Serving

Pastor Dennis Olsen and his wife Kim are now serving in an interim ministry role as we seek a full time minister. Here is an introduction to Pastor Olsen and his wife, Kim.

Dennis Olsen is the Associate Director of Churches Now for Conservative Baptist Northwest (“CB Northwest”). He is involved in coaching, mentoring, training, arbitration and mediation, and pulpit supply from time to time.

Dennis was born and raised in Auburn, Washington, served in the United States Air Force. He committed his life to Jesus Christ when he was 20 years old.

Dennis’s training includes a Th.B. from Multnomah School of the Bible, an M.Div. and Th.M. from Western Baptist Seminary, and doctoral studies in two seminaries.

Dennis met his first wife Judy Atwood, a graduate nurse, while at Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland. They married and had five children. Judy later passed away from breast cancer. Dennis is now married to Kim, an oncology pharmacist at Kaiser Permanente in Longview. They are the proud grandparents of 14 grandkids!

Dennis’s career includes staff positions in four churches working as an interim pastor of member care, overseeing Christian education, being an executive pastor, and the director of building and grounds. He was the senior pastor of six churches in Oregon and Washington. He also taught as an adjunct professor at two seminaries and one Christian college. After “retiring” he completed seventeen church interims, and continues to work with CB Northwest.

He has a passion for the local church, wanting it to be healthy, to reach out to lost people, and to attract and retain worshippers of all ages. He hopes to serve the Lord as long as the Lord gives him strength. He counts it a privilege to serve the local church.
